Motorola Set-Top Boxes To Get MOTOBLUR

This is an update on Motorola’s Big Change. Motorola seeks tighter link between phones, TV Boxes.

According to Motorola’s co-CEO, Sanjay Jha, the company is looking for ways to combine the features of mobile phones and home-product divisions, bringing a new email and social-networking function to its television set-top boxes.

Consumers will be able to share photos, video, and other multimedia more efficiently and easier with their home theater systems not to mention the use of MOTOROLABLUR applications in addition.

MOTOBLUR, for your information, runs on Motorola’s Android handsets like the Motorola CLIQ on T-Mobile and the DROID on Verizon Wireless, and it provides easy and quick access to social networks like Facebook and Twitter, as well as address book integration. Good thing, it has phone sync capabilities.

The o-CEO has also mentioned that Motorola has considered sharing an operating system across both phones and set-top boxes, and expressed a growing interest in Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7 Series operating system.
